Film shot for the Menlo Charity Horse Show. This is the full version of the film. I had the greatest 5 days shooting it.
43 years ago, a woman set out to prove that people still loved equestrian sports, and to stop the Circus Club from abandoning its roots and turning the polo field into a 9 hole golf course. Today Betsy Glikbarg's Saturday afternoon family horse show has become the Menlo Charity Horse Show. It raises hundreds of thousands for charity and is one of the top shows in America, with top riders and horses from all over the world. Over the past 22 years, the Menlo Charity Horse Show has raised millions of dollars for the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually impaired.

This is part of a project for a brand new start up bringing video news to mobile devices. The news anchor was filmed reading headlines, she was then put into a virtual set showing the clip running behind her.
Personal Documentary Films
Everybody has a story. Sometimes, a person's story is so buried, or has been so long in the making, that even the family doesn't know or remember it all. These stories are often lost with time, or when people move on. An ancient relative once told me wonderful stories about England in the early 20th century, when there were no cars and when men threw their coats down for ladies to cross over the mud (yes, they really did!). When he passed, I deeply regretted never having got his stories on tape, and the idea to record personal documentaries was born.
These films are made like any normal documentary. I research the subject or subjects, the family, the circumstances, the story. I interview and film other people as is appropriate. I use two HD film/video cameras and record the sound on several devices and spend as long as a month or more (depending on the requirements and the depth of the stories) to put together all the pieces, and to perfect the film. I love the intimacy of this medium, getting to know the subjects, hearing their tales. And the final product has never disappointed.
